The Expanded Non-native Aquatic Species Management Plan in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Grand Canyon National Park below Glen Canyon Dam – An Environmental Assessment was released on September 11th. This document is of particular importance to anglers who fish either the Walk-in or upstream at Lees Ferry, but is of concern to all of us. Our collective involvement in December helped in efforts to mitigate the even harsher initial impacts proposed by the National Park Service on the Lees Ferry Blue Ribbon Rainbow Trout fishery. We urge you to become informed on this issue and make thoughtful comments to the National Park Service about this plan at upcoming meetings and as part of the public record on the plan.
