Eating well and doing good in Phoenix – and beyond

You know about the proposed Pebble Mine. Nothing could be more damaging to the productive Bristol Bay ecosystem than this mine. Not only will it destroy over 3,000 acres of wetlands and more than 21 miles of salmon streams at the mine site. Worse yet, it will include a massive tailings storage facility, treatment ponds, and associated dams in an active seismic area. It’s bad news.

But here’s some good news. Our partners at Pride of Bristol Bay will be in Phoenix this weekend to offer customers the opportunity to buy high quality, wild caught sockeye salmon from Bristol Bay, AK and to hear first-hand about the efforts to stand up against mining concerns that would cause irreparable harm to the world’s largest wild sockeye salmon fishery.

Pride of Bristol Bay is a Trout Unlimited Gold Level Business Member and a commercial fishing business that has been one of our most important allies of Orvis and Trout Unlimited in our opposition to the Pebble Mine. They’ll be at the following locations:

Saturday – January 18th (noon – 7p.m.)

– Casey Jones Grill, 2848 East Bell Road, Phoenix
Sunday – January 19th (11a.m. – 5p.m.)

– Orvis Store, 2011 East Camelback Road (Town and Country Shopping Center), Phoenix

Onsite purchases made on the above dates and locations qualify for a 20 percent discount on items available at Pride of Bristol Bay. If you cannot visit either event this weekend, a discount of 10% and free shipping will be made for orders placed by February 1, 2020 using the code TUAZ10 at Pride of Bristol Bay.

We invite you to support this fishermen-owned company sustainably harvesting wild caught sockeye from this irreplaceable fishery. Pride of Bristol Bay donates 1% of total sales to conservation and advocacy programs to protect Bristol Bay.
